Biography for

Sherrie Bjurstrom

Upon graduation Sherrie attended Marietta College from which she received a B.A. in Biology; but she continued her schooling at Xavier University where she earned her MEd. in Teaching emotionally disturbed children. She works with exceptional children and is actively involved with them, their community, and their families.

Now divorced, she has one daughter, two step children, and two grandchildren. She adopted her daughter when she was three years old; she was a product of neglect and possible abuse and her parents were alcoholics. Now she is a wonderful mother.

Sherrie enjoys many artistic endeavors such as sewing, quilting, painting, throwing pottery, weaving, creating batiks, basket weaving, scrapbooking, and doing photography. She loves traveling, having been to every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Also, she likes to cook and bake, is addicted to FoodTV, and enjoys reading. She has received a few teacher awards through her years in education, but her greatest reward is seeing a child's eyes light up with the joy of newfound accomplishments.
