Biography for

Kris (Towner) Kohl

After high school Kris attended Wittenberg University, graduating with a BFA in Art. The summer after she graduated she married Jack Kohl ('57). She taught art in Fairview Park and Shaker Heights until the late 1960's when Jack finished law school. She's been married to Jack 45 years and they have three daughters and seven grandchildren. She "held down the fort" for the 23 years her children were in school. When they entered college she volunteered at the Cleveland Sight Center and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Today she serves as a trustee for both organizations.

In addition to being a wife, mom, and grandmother, she enjoys painting with watercolors, gardening, and traveling. Because she and Jack like to spend as much time with their daughters' families as possible, they spend a lot of time in the air, traveling to California, Idaho, and New York . She notes that her greatest accomplishment is raising three daughters who married great guys and have wonderful families. Since Jack just retired from the partnership of the company for which he works, they have more time to travel and do the things on their "bucket list;" and they are "trying to figure out what they want to do when they grow up!"
